About This Service

Assistance with Travel & Transport

We provide transport support for medical appointments, community activities, social outings, and everyday errands. Our workers can drive participants in our vehicles or accompany them using public transport, depending on what suits. For participants working towards independence, we offer hands-on public transport training — route planning, ticketing systems, safety awareness — delivered in the real environment until you are confident travelling alone. Transport support is available on evenings and weekends as well as business hours.

FAQ

Common questions about transport.

Does NDIS fund transport to medical appointments?+
Yes, if your plan includes funding for Assistance with Travel and Transport Arrangements under Core Supports. Not all plans include transport funding automatically — if yours does not, raise it at your next plan review with evidence of your transport needs.
Can your workers drive me in my own vehicle?+
Yes, provided your vehicle is registered and appropriately insured. Our workers can drive your car or accompany you in theirs, depending on what works best. We will confirm the arrangement during your intake meeting.
Is transport support available on evenings and weekends?+
Yes. We offer transport support outside business hours to cover social activities, evening appointments, and community access on weekends. Availability depends on your location and scheduling — contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Can you teach me to use public transport independently?+
Yes — this is one of our most common requests. We provide practical, in-the-field public transport training: learning your specific routes, using Myki or other ticketing systems, understanding timetables, and building safety awareness. We keep going until you feel genuinely confident, not just theoretically prepared.
